The Morning Plum
* National storm brewing: White House and Senator Dick Durbin coalesce behind a plan to transfer Guantanamo inmates to a facility in Illinois.
* GOP Senate candidate Mark Kirk, facing a primary from his right, says no way: “As home to America’s tallest building, we should not invite Al Qaeda to make Illinois its number one target.”
* Obama in China: Free flow of information “makes me a better leader.”
* This will be a big story today: U.S. Chamber of Commerce hands health care reform proponents a gift, complete with shiny ribbon.
* David Axelrod says criticism of Obama’s “dithering” on Afghanistan is a symptom of our “A.D.D. political culture,” adding:
““No matter what decision he makes, if he were to send troops, the first brigade would not arrive until next spring. So this notion that he is delaying is simply not true.”
* No end to the grievance: Sarah Palin is now angry at the media for giving her book lots of scrutiny, otherwise known as publicity and attention.
* Palin has a special theology all her own: Evolutionary creationism.
* Florida Republicans still seething with rage over Charlie Crist’s hug with Obama.
* Pentagon’s crusade to keep detainee pics secret headed to Supreme Court?
* And MSNBC keeps refusing to play the role of the left-wing version of Fox.
What else is happening?
This blog’s homepage is here. RSS feed here. Twitter feed here. Email me here.

So what Mark Kirk is saying is that we should allow Al Qaeda veto power over our Justice Department?
These guys are going to make the biggest fools of themselves ever over this closing GITMO deal and they are gonna discover that most Americans are a lot braver than they are trying to play them for. When its all said and done Republicans are gonna look like the massive cowards that they really are.
Oh and if there are any Dem strategist reading this blog (and I know there are) that should definitely be a talking point.
“We will not allow Al Qaeda to have veto power over our justice system. America is stronger than any terrorists hiding in a cave”
I will give you that one for free

SG — that is damn good. I’ll pass it along
And Bernie, thx for Tomasky link. He’s one of my favorites and I just don’t link him enough. I worked with him years ago at the Village Voice, incidentally.
Tomasky and Sy…your career was fated. Serious hat tip on doing it with integrity.
Over at National Review’s ‘the corner’, they quote Continetti on Palin and Facebook…
“Meanwhile, Facebook allows Palin to burnish her policy credentials with foot-noted, op-ed length essays on health care, cap-and-trade, government spending and much else. Step by step, Palin is showing other conservatives how to use new media and social networks to their advantage. And no one seems to care.”
Continetti is evolving into a deceitful little ferret. Must be the work environment.
““We will not allow Al Qaeda to have veto power over our justice system. America is stronger than any terrorists hiding in a cave””
That is a good answer sg and it’s true. This running around squeaking about “we can’t do this because….” is a bunch of nonsense.
We tried Charles Manson in a court. We tried Timothy McVeigh in a court. The country survived.

Bari, Italy
Al-Qaeda suspects ‘plotted attack on Britain’ from behind bars
Italian police have arrested two alleged al-Qaeda terrorists suspected of planning attacks on Britain and France from inside prison.
During wiretapped conversations, the men discussed an attack on Charles De Gaulle airport outside Paris and spoke of the need to “strike at the British”, Italian police said.
Bassam Ayachi, 62, a Syrian imam with French citizenship, and Raphael Frederic Gendron, 33, a Frenchman who converted to Islam, were allegedly part of an al-Qaeda cell operating in Europe.
They have been in prison in Bari, a port town in southern Italy, since November, …
“We are extremely satisfied to have stopped the masterminds, the heads of the organisation, the people who educated would-be suicide attackers in the name of Jihad,”
Police said the pair had for years lived in Belgium, where Bassam was an imam at an extremist Islamic centre and one of al-Qaeda’s “spiritual guides”, while Gendron, a computer expert, was the “media propaganda point man, via the internet, for the French-speaking community.”
Actually, don’t use Manson as an example – his first lawyer disappeared, now that I think about it…
sasha2008 – Europe has had a lot of success prosecuting terrorists. Spain rounded up the train attackers in record time and had them behind bars.
The Bush Administration didn’t seem that interested in catching terrorists and never did successfully try anyone.
Bernie–Facebook burnishes Palin’s policy credentials. OMFG! Is that setting the bar so low it is underground now? Can’t.Stop.Laughing.
“Through it all, Mrs. Palin emerges as a new style of feminist”
That’s from Melanie Kirpatrick’s review of Palin’s book in this mornings WSJ… http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704431804574537882681089404.html
Keep watch on the dissemination of this meme throughout the rightwing media world as it represents a key strategic goal to pull women voters away from Obama. Meanwhile, of course, Nancy Pelosi will be assaulted with every demeaning and sexist metaphor or allusion the human mind might dredge up.
Bernie–I would not worry about Palin peeling voters from Obama. Women can read her better than men. The ones that like her will follow her blindly no matter what. the rest of us have seen through her and are not buying. This new product rollout wont change our minds. Trust me.
I meant ‘female voters from Obama’
Good morning, ifo. “Burnishing” her policy credentials is a necessary PR move, as we all understand. The actual truth of things matters not at all except as those truths need to be hidden or denied. She’s being marketed like a sparkling bathroom fixture.
““Through it all, Mrs. Palin emerges as a new style of feminist””
Yeah -if being anti-feminism is a “new form of feminism.”
Puleeeeeeeeeeze
“Bernie–I would not worry about Palin peeling voters from Obama. Women can read her better than men”
Ayup – we could from the start.
Bernie are you really worried about Sarah Palin? I wouldn’t -I don’t.
There are women who like her -but they are all part of the rabid ratwing who hate everybody else in the country because they are professional resenters. They resent the hell out of everybody who isn’t them. Sarah speaks for the resentful and there aren’t enough of them to elect her to anything at this point.
@ifo – that’s my sense of things, too. I don’t imagine their polling is terribly promising in this direction but it might be one of the few opportunities they perceive as a means to increase votes. She is clearly beloved of the base and activates them so she must be kept front and center. Also, as women are half the electorate, they are a demographic far more important than other demographic slices.
It may not work, as you say, but it’s easy to understand why they are playing it like this.
Tena – I worry about everything. It was my family role and function. Whenever a gas leak was suspected, for example, they’d set me in the living room and watch through the windows from outside.
Bernie – you’re of course free to follow your inclinations. I may be fooling myself but I don’t think she’s a threat of any sort. She’s entertainment.
Great piece on the CofC: We’re gonna fund an independent study to see if health reform is a job-killer, and when the study shows that health reform is a job-killer, here’s how we’re gonna hit the Dems with it.
What? Oh, did I say when? Obviously, I meant if.
“A.D.D. political culture,” what could he possibly mean by …
oooh, look! rabbits! and something shiny to district me! …
· · · — — — · · ·
· · · — — — · · ·
· · · — — — · · ·
Bernie, Tena–I really think the Reps think the electorate is stupid enough to think Palin can whitewash not only the feelings most women have towards her 9they don’t like her) and the fact that Reps are horrid on women’s issues. Lily Ledbetter anyone? I will hate this week because she is vapid and will be on the news everyday but you know what–she will never be able to play in the big leagues politically.
BTW Greg. Your interview with that McCain staff person who said Palin did not prepare for the Couric interview. I had to laugh and shake my head when this person said Palin was not prepared or knew anything about the issues but it seemed that did not matter to them! She gave a goos performance at the Convention so that meant as long as they cocooned her they thought they could bamboozle the voters? The level of irresponsibility there is insane.
Tena – No, I’m not very worried about her, particularly as a future candidate. But I am very respectful of the PR/propaganda expertise of the modern right and that leads me to a sort of constant alertness to what it is they are doing or at least what I perceive it is they are doing. It was no small feat to deliver two Presidential elections to a spoiled, ex-alcoholic, unstudied and incurious establishment prince who was so evidently unqualified to take on the post – but they swung it. Twice.
“The level of irresponsibility there is insane.”
Without a doubt, that was one of the most cynical things I’ve ever seen in American politics – choosing her as a running mate.
“but they swung it. Twice.”
maybe they did and maybe they didn’t. Whichever, the country paid the price and while it may seem the country has forgotten, I wouldn’t bet on it.
“No end to the grievance: Sarah Palin is now angry at the media for giving her book lots of scrutiny, otherwise known as publicity and attention.”
That’s silly, Mr. Sargent. There’s nothing “angry” there –nothing like the petulant Obama flacks attacking Fox, for example.
You should at least make a minimal effort at appearing credible. Anyone who actually looks at the FB link will see you are not being serious here. This kind of cheap shot stuff only saps your credibility when you do make a serious point.
Bernie–I totally agree. But you have to remember Bush for all his faults came from a political world. He knew how the power lever worked and could speak the language of the political elites and the language of the base. Palin is all base, all fringy. She does not have what GWB had which is the deep facility of having grown up in a political family named Bush. I am *not* making a class argument here but one of understanding how political power works. She does not, she really thinks she can burn bridges with the powerful and run for president with Randy Shcuenman and Bill Kristol and that will be enough. The political cadres won’t touch her. I can bet money on that now.
“And MSNBC keeps refusing to play the role of the left-wing version of Fox.”
So here again you want to credit MSNBC with somehow being fair and balanced because it criticizes Obama FROM THE LEFT.
Fox commentators were often critical of Bush and Republicans from the right. So, what is your point? MSNBC “isn’t the Fox of the left,” because MSNBC is consistently to the far left?
“That’s silly, Mr. Sargent. ”
Well, calling Greg “Mr. Sargent” strikes me as egregiously silly.
“Bernie–I totally agree. But you have to remember Bush for all his faults came from a political world. He knew how the power lever worked and could speak the language of the political elites and the language of the base”
Yes he did. He already had the network and most importantly, he had Karl Rove. Karl is through getting people elected. I don’t think he cares or ever really did -= it was a game for Karl getting Commander CooCoo elected.

QB-
So, what is your point? MSNBC “isn’t the Fox of the left,” because MSNBC is consistently to the far left?
No, the point there is that unlike FOX, MSNBC operates independently, instead of cheerleading for the president of their choice (such as FOX did for W). Nowhere in either Greg’s statement, nor the original article was the claim made that MSNBC doesn’t have a leftward slant. Try to be honest for a minute. Jeez.
@Tena…” I may be fooling myself but I don’t think she’s a threat of any sort. She’s entertainment.”
I am in basic agreement…she is entertainment..but I would respectfully add she is a threat to one group…the Republican Party!!!
Max Blumenthal does a great job of pointing this out…
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/max-blumenthal/how-sarah-palin-made-hers_b_358434.html
“Fox commentators were often critical of Bush and Republicans from the right.”
O they hammered him daily. Yeah.
That’s right.
now run along and play = the grownups are talking.
rukidding – “I am in basic agreement…she is entertainment..but I would respectfully add she is a threat to one group…the Republican Party!!”
Forgot to say that. I read that last night and it’s a good piece. Yes she is going to ruin what’s left of the Repugs.
Hooray!
Her and Dick Cheney.
[bigdamngrin]
If she goes this crazy just about fact checking her “book”, can’t wait for her when she decides to run for teh prezinent. Hope mittens and huckster tear her a new one.
What a gawdawful woman. The worst politician I’ve ever seen.
Sarah is yelping that the AP did “opposition research” on her book. Someone for god’s sake – ask her what Opposition research is – she doesn’t have a clue. She’s parroting what she’s been told.
Ask her to explain – someone. Anyone.
This woman did not know that Africa is a continent, or understand the difference between England and Great Britain.
Not “she didn’t know there was difference;” she did not understand the difference.
Don’t tell me she has native wits and shrewdness. She’s dumber than dirt and she has gotten where she is with winking and being mean as cat dirt.
Here is the real upside to a Cheney/Palin administration. Think of the money we could save by merging the departments of State and Defense with of course daughter Liz as the Secretary of the new combination. Because we can be assured these bruisers would end silly diplomacy and do all negotiations at the the point of a gun barrel with some dungeons and torturers to back things up.
Tena, ifo… let’s drop the presumption that Palin will be a candidate because I doubt she will be. I don’t think she can win and I am sure the movement strategists know it even better than I do. So, much more likely, she’ll be used for other purposes as we’ve talked about above.
Josh points to an interview Norquist gave to Roll Call. Do read it… http://www.rollcall.com/issues/55_56/politics/40591-1.html
Norquist is someone we need to keep our attention on. He’s a serious guy. He is a serious student of Stalin, Lenin, Mao and others (lots in Easton’s “The Gang of Five” on this) and he studied them in order to understand how power is gained and then maintained. He understands organizational systems and is merciless (a la Stalin but without the murders which are inconveniently difficult in our culture) in running them. Note in the interview how centered he is on electoral consequences in the coming mid-term. One way Palin WILL be used is to aid in bringing about the electoral consequences that Norquist desires.
If Dick Cheney and Sarah Palin took over the Executive, we would all wave bye bye to the 3 branches of government and the checks and balances provided by the constitution on our government.
If Dick Cheney was elected president, America would have its first emperor.
“Note in the interview how centered he is on electoral consequences in the coming mid-term. One way Palin WILL be used is to aid in bringing about the electoral consequences that Norquist desires.”
No doubt.
Starting in January, I think the Democrats need to start reminding the country of the Massive Failure that was the Repug Majority.

“No, the point there is that unlike FOX, MSNBC operates independently, instead of cheerleading for the president of their choice (such as FOX did for W). Nowhere in either Greg’s statement, nor the original article was the claim made that MSNBC doesn’t have a leftward slant. Try to be honest for a minute. Jeez.”
You didn’t read my post very carefully. Fox shows and personalities were often very critical of Bush — often from the right. They criticized him on spending all the time, for example. You deny that?
So either the same applies to both networks or it doesn’t apply to either.
“Starting in January, I think the Democrats need to start reminding the country of the Massive Failure that was the Repug Majority.”
Again this is what I do not understand about much of the opposition…Don’t facts mean anything. “Show me the money!” Or in this case the lack of it for our middle class. It is a simple fact that QB or SBJ cannot argue against…the middle class has..and historically has always SUFFERED when the Repubs are in power. They ARE the party of the wealthy. They did nothing for our security…9/11..on their watch…could have happened to any Pres..but they can’t claim to have prevented it..TWO quagmires that are euphimistically referred to as wars…WHAT do the Repubs do well except slant our economy towards the wealthiest amongst us? Really QB name some accomplishments to offset the OBVIOUS MASSSIVE FAILURES!!!
When its all said and done Republicans are gonna look like the massive cowards that they really are.
PRECISELY.
“PS – check out where this a$$hole parks his car.”
Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!
That’s prickalicious.
“the middle class has..and historically has always SUFFERED when the Repubs are in power. They ARE the party of the wealthy”
You know what’s kind of funny about that? Big Money Repugs have been using their backwards backwoods voters to keep Big Money in power; the first thing those voters really would like to do is kill all the rich.
Bernie– yes except norquist often pushes too far to the right and fails electorally. Palin is good for base frothing but she turns off the independents. They will have to be very careful where they deploy her.
The Bush Administration didn’t seem that interested in catching terrorists and never did successfully try anyone.
All they wanted to do was use 9/11 as the nearest convenient pretext for invading Iraq, something they’d wanted to do since Clinton was president.
If the Repugs keep on killing off the middle class, Capitalism will die of asphyxiation.
You cannot maintain a Capitalist system without a strong, secure middle class.
“All they wanted to do was use 9/11 as the nearest convenient pretext for invading Iraq, something they’d wanted to do since Clinton was president.”
“We need a Pearl Harbor,” George W Bush on wanting to be a War President.
Is it any wonder people have questions about 9-11? And people with questions get called conspiracy nuts.
qb seems to think CodePink is some strong-arm political powerhouse of the Democratic party.
See, here’s the problem with you right wingers. You’re delusional.
I get so tickled over the ratwing squawking about CodePink.
I don’t know hardly anybody who likes CodePink who isn’t part of CodePink.
LOL
yes except norquist often pushes too far to the right and fails electorally
Norquist’s biggest problem is that he doesn’t recognize he’s fallen victim to the very same problem the liberals of the 60’s didn’t recognize. He’s too wedded to his ideas, ideas that appealed to many in 1980, but don’t now and aren’t going to again for another generation at least.
“They resent the hell out of everybody who isn’t them.”
That’s why they swooned when Sarah was plucked from obscurity: “she’s one of us!”
“He’s too wedded to his ideas, ideas that appealed to many in 1980, but don’t now and aren’t going to again for another generation at least.”
The Right is just a collection of Ideas and Grievances.
It’s heavy with idealogues – and your analogy to 60s radicals is right on. lol
“That’s why they swooned when Sarah was plucked from obscurity: “she’s one of us!””
Exactly.
And they totally get her; it’s a front they get, but they never have been able to tell the difference between frontin and genuine.
ifo said: “Bernie– yes except norquist often pushes too far to the right and fails electorally.”
Let’s start from the presumption that the next two electoral cycles WON’T be shoo-ins for Dems. The people I read suggest that circumstances and traditional trends will likely result in lost seats next year, quantities unknown. I think that’s right.
But from a longer-term perspective, that is also necessary for the Republicans to pull off in a hoped-for march towards beating Obama two years later (he must be credibly portrayed as a loser and as ineffective to bring him down). Further, the loss of seats in both houses will facilitate even greater obstructionism. Those two elements provide extra and critical motivations for Norquist and others to concentrate full bore on next November.
As to “pushing too far right”, avoidance of that is precisely Norquist’s point. Note his use of “Reaganism” as necessary model rather than some teabag “purist” criterion. What he means by “Reaganism” is, of course, the re-written history of Reagan’s legacy which Norquist himself has been most responsible for bringing about (”Now, we create our own reality”).
But such a strategy is precisely that which Rahm used over the prior two cycles to gain electoral wins even if the winning Dems (quite conservative and running in conservative districts) have contributed to the Blue Dog problem.
Don’t discount this fellow.
And now, nap time before work (a consequence of getting up at 3AM)
I mean, these are people who actively dislike anyone who is smart and/or educated.
Clearly the three hours of far right Republican Joe Scarborough on MSNBC means they are too left!
And the Nixonian Republican racist Pat Buchanan on regularly on MSNBC clearly shows how left they are.
And the regular appearances by right wing extremist Anne Coulter was on MSNBC clearly showed it as well!
aaargh…
Let’s start from the presumption that the next two electoral cycles WON’T be shoo-ins for Dems. The people I read suggest that circumstances and traditional trends will likely result in lost seats next year, quantities unknown. I think that’s right.
I realize mid-terms are when the party in power generally loses seats in Congress, but I also don’t think those writers are really taking into consideration very consistent polling indicating that for however unpopular Democratic legislators may be at present Republicans are even less popular.
Note his use of “Reaganism” as necessary model rather than some teabag “purist” criterion. What he means by “Reaganism” is, of course, the re-written history of Reagan’s legacy which Norquist himself has been most responsible for bringing about (”Now, we create our own reality”).
As I said, he’s always stuck in 1980.
@oddjob…I agree…the Reagan Revolution and trickle down have been exposed…however it’s Tena’s accurate observation that worries me…
“Big Money Repugs have been using their backwards backwoods voters to keep Big Money in power; the first thing those voters really would like to do is kill all the rich.”
Somehow the Rovian wizards have convinced the American middle class to vote against their own best interests…the HCR is just the latest in a long series of swindles…Fact..The VA “Socialized health care” gets some very high marks in our country” Medicare..single payer also gets high marks..our country ranks 37th in the world in providing health care and yet somehow the corporatists are able to get crowds of screaming MEDICARE RECEIVING seniors to town halls to yell “we don’t want a government takeover of the health system.” Do these idiots realize what they are saying?
Sometimes it’s hard to not be cynical. Karl Rove is simply a manifestation of PT Barnum’s famous saying…”There’s a sucker born every minute”
I mean really…somehow these wizards can make us all believe that taking six weeks a year vacation is evil…all the while THEY lounge on yachts and eat cavier in their Manhattan Penthouses. These clever snake oil salesmen use hapless witless dupes like Palin to divide and conquer.
This is why I view Obama as one of our last hopes…if things don’t change…we better all learn how to speak Chinese because Tena is exactly correct…
“If the Repugs keep on killing off the middle class, Capitalism will die of asphyxiation.
You cannot maintain a Capitalist system without a strong, secure middle class.”

VA sec vows to end veterans’ homelessness.
“Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki on Tuesday unveiled a plan to end veterans’ homelessness in five years, saying that without action the improvements of recent years could be lost because of the bad economy.
Shinseki said the VA will spend $3.2 billion next year to reduce homelessness among veterans and is working to strengthen partnerships with other government agencies and service organizations. He said he recognizes that a goal of zero homeless veterans is ambitious but that he wants a high target so that everyone puts in their best efforts.
“My name is Shinseki and I’m here to end veteran homelessness,” he said at the beginning of a speech to 1,200 service providers at a VA summit.”

rukidding – I’m humbled. Seriously, it’s not every day someone says I’m right, twice.
Thanks.
It’s worrisome, ok? What worries me is that the ratwing is not taking their loss and brooding over it – they’re tryingn to burn the house down because they lost the mortgage to it.
Bernie-
Re: Tomasky/tea party article-
Thanks for linking. I agree with most of it, but I think he goes a little too far by saying that the GOP has not supported legislation ameliorating discrimination in the last 50 years. There were votes for the Civil and Voting Rights Acts, Ike and Little Rock, etc.
I think the hard-right move of the GOP since Goldwater in 1964 up to the present has helped both this impression and shows a drift from a more moderate attitude towards minority concerns to the more extreme.
@Tena…you simply hit on one to the two topics that’s drives me nukkin futs. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan…and the complete inequality of our economic system as engineered by the repugs.
Again if you’re looking for a great treatise on the subject and the economic failure (as judged by actual numbers) of the rethugs…Norton Garfinkel’s “The Gospel of Wealth Versus the American Dream” is really a must read.
For those without the time I offer this…in the 1950’s Corporations paid roughly 25% of our income taxes…by the time Reagan and the Bushes were finished that number is now down to less than 8% shifting the rest of course on us!
If you really want your eyes opened…

BooMan is correct that “The Palin Image is a Fraud”. But more than that, Republicanism is a Fraud. Worse, the entire right wing ideology is a fraud.
Hollywood entertainer and Republican con-man Ronald Reagan is the perfect example of the right wing’s frauds.
Republican Ronald Reagan abandoned his wife and children and was falsely celebrated as a ’social conservative’.
Republican Ronald Reagan raised the US debt by 260% and was falsely celebrated as a ‘fiscal conservative’.
Republican Ronald Reagan evaded military service, Reagan funded Iranian terrorists, Reagan cut and ran from Lebanon and was falsely celebrated as a ‘military conservative’.
Republican Ronald Reagan sold out America and American workers and was falsely celebrated as a ‘business conservative’.
Republican Ronald Reagan was always a fraud and a con artist.
In that sense, Republican Sarah Palin is exactly like Republican Reagan: A complete fraud.
“qb seems to think CodePink is some strong-arm political powerhouse of the Democratic party.”
No, I think it is a part of the Dem “coalition” and much more in common with you than with mainstream America.
quarterback,
You still haven’t explained the discrepancy between your usage of the terms socialist, communist, Marxist, Maoist, and Stalinist with that of any dictionary. Each word has a separate and independent definition in any dictionary you could cite, yet you toss the terms about without any connection to any established meaning. Why?
Why should anyone take anything you write seriously?
Gasbag,
A. Your premises are false, as usual.
B. Your assumption that I have some unsatisfied duty to expain anything to you is fanciful.
C. You are looking a little desperate in your forlorn attempts to find some error over which to confront me, just because I exposed you as an ignoramus and serial liar.
I’ve repeatedly challenged factual contentions made by people here and repeatedly been proven right while they were wrong, as you well and personally know. So people can take me seriously or not, as they choose. You, on the other hand, have an unswerving record of error, falsehood, and absurd factual overstatement, not to mention rhetorical overkill.
No one takes you seriously, and it isn’t even a question.
It’s tiresome listening to right wing frauds attempt to lecture people.
Right winger “quarterback” is ally to the anti-American extremist “bilgeman” who wants to destroy America by cutting our nation into little pieces and going back to the days of slavery.
“quarterback” is also the same guy who complains about being accused of being a sadistic torturer and yet refuses to repudiate torture as the sick practice of psychopaths.
Why do you hate America, “quarterback”?
I’ve come to a realization that explains much about your posts: you are a teabagger! Your meaningless, haphazard, seemingly random uses of the words “socialist,” “communist,” “Marxist,” “Maoist,” and “Stalinist” as invective directed at your foes makes absolutely no sense, unless we consider their usage in light of your teabagging credentials.
You have at least five of the markers for being a teabagger.
1. You watch and breathlessly defend FauxNews as being legitimate.
2. You mindlessly parrot right wing conspiracy memes about the liberal media and the evil Olbermann, Maddow, and anyone else that doesn’t show abject fealty to the conservative cause, whatever that is.
3. You support Dick Cheney’s doctrine of torture.
4. You are a birther.
5. You are a Palinista.
Two or three is more than enough for confirmation of teabagging, but you go way beyond that. I’m sure we could identify others if we dug a little deeper.
As a teabagger, you very well may be totally ignorant of the fact that those words actually have separate, wholly independent meanings and are not synonymous and interchangeable. You seem to have a very tiny little quiver of adjectives at your command and your digital thesaurus is set on “shuffle.” The very few words just come tumbling out without regard to context or appropriateness. You might want to expand your vocabulary a bit and actually try and choose words which have some direct connection with the discussion at hand. “Shout before thinking” seems to be the mantra of the teabaggers. You assiduously adhere to that banal credal statement.
You are a bullying troll whose sole purpose is to act as sand in the gears of democracy. Like the teabaggers at the town hall meetings, your purpose is not to discuss, debate, or inform, it is to sabotage, frustrate, and/or destroy the entire political process with your toddleresque tantrums. You spew your imbecilic nonsense merely to try and wear others down. Words are not used to convey thought or exchange ideas, they are wielded as cudgels to silence your opponents. As such, you are anathema to truly free speech and to the democratic process.
Your moronic tendentiousness is tiresome, predictable, and exceedingly boring. You essentially have a template of three different posts that you incessantly recycle, regardless of the topic. You cut and paste a few nouns here and there to make it seem vaguely relevant, but they are nothing more than the threadbare cloak of the teabagger which you eagerly don regardless of the subject.
Rest assured, your teabaggery is blatantly obvious to anyone reading but a few lines of nearly any of your posts. You persuade no one. You fool no one. I’m sure that the quality of your posts will remain unchanged. You could at least endeavor to change the templates and drop the meaningless hyperbolic insults. Even if the intellectual content of your posts remained as abysmally low as we have come to expect from you, at least you would be less boring.
LOL
Gasbag, how I wish I had the ability to take one of your exercises in self-parody like that one and use a read pen to connect your hysterical accusations of, e.g., “moronic tendentious” and “meaningless hyperbolic insults” to the examples of your doing precisely those things in your own rant. Of couse, in many instances — like those very ones — they are one and the same. How hilarious you are.
On second thought, though, you aren’t worth the time for a red pen markup. That is “blatantly obvious,” in your own hysterically redundant language. LOL
That’s the only thing mildly interesting about your ravings. I’ve never seen anyone who combines quite such a pedantic, stilted, and pretentious style with such frequent solecisms, not to mention your utter lack of substance or coherent thought. I’t like you write as a freshmen doing parody of a stereotypical pseudo-intellectual academic. I mean, really, some of those sentences are painfully funny, Gasbag.
Nor have I seen anyone project with your consistency and specificity. Your mentioning adjectives and use of a thesaurus, for example, is illuminating. You are revealing yourself, Gasbag, but I know that for your pathological type that is part of your compulsion.
As to your “diagnosis” of me, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Nothing new there. But keep lashing out at me, desperately trying to unburden yourself of you numerous humiliations at my hands.
quarterback the teabagger,
Yet again, you are dodging the question. You know you’ve been caught with your invective down and you won’t admit it. Mommy won’t let you use her thesaurus? Go right for ad hominem. That is a vintage quarterback play.
In your childish and seemingly random choice of vituperation, you transparently display your teabagging credentials. You’ve got your tiny arsenal of favorite insults which you deploy indiscriminately, without regard to actual meaning. Instead of calling someone a “Stalinist,” you might as well accuse them of being “endothermic,” “deciduous,” or a “marsupial.” It would make about as much sense.
You get called out for your sloppy and puerile misuse of language and your response is to ignore the observation and to then petulantly stomp your feet and throw a tantrum.
Thanks for proving my point.
Now run along and go do your teabagging somewhere else.
Oh, Gassy, you just keep trying to get validation, don’t you.
Your problem here is that, before you can try to call someone on the carpet for misusing terms, you actually need to have some idea what you are talking about, make a logical and supported argument, and show examples of such misuse and why they are misuse.
This is typical of your derangement, in which facts are irrelevant to you. You never do and never can actually show that I misuse terms. You just have an ill-informed and unfounded opinion, which you imagine is the truth.
So you keep up your desperate posturing and stalking. You are really becoming quite obsessed with me, again. You so hate anyone who challenges your depraved rantings and proves you have lied. But, still, you can can do nothing to undo the damage done. Can’t remove the humiliation.
teabagger QB,
You still refuse to acknowledge that you were caught being sloppy and meaningless with your prose. You erupt when people don’t use language to your satisfaction and you seem to be unaware of the definitions of the words you regularly employ. Again, when you can’t address a challenge, fall back on ad hominem.
You are a teabagging troll and should be regarded as such. No hate directed toward you, merely impatience with your bile.
Don’t you have a rally to go to?
So right winger “quarterback”, who is obsessed with spreading misinformation on this site, is now calling someone who calls out his misinformation as being “obsessed”.
Frankly, I congratulate “Gasman” for having the patience to repeatedly debunk “quarterback’s” falsehoods.
LOL
Oldnews, that’s something that hasn’t happened even once — else I’d imagine you geniuses could give some examples. Gasbag is obsessed but feckless in his desperation to find some error by me — an obsession arising from my repeatedly having shown him to be dishonest and misinformed.
I endlessly laugh at your expense these days. Trust me, so does everyone else who reads your pathetic attacks.
