Harry Reid is indeed a wimp!Any other Senate Leader could get the unemployment extension bill passed, with or without cloture. We are cursed with a wimp in the person of Harry Reid and all of us are paying the price for it.

Nope, I will absolutely not ease up on Harry. He may be “doing exactly what he’s paid to do,” but he’s not doing what he’s been *elected* to do. Until such a time as he *is*, I’m not going to ease up on him.

These clowns may be bought and paid for by Big Pharma, or Big Ag, or Wall Street, or whoever your favorite bugaboo is, but they still respond to public pressure and the threat of not getting re-elected. To hell with easing up; bring the noise.

Fellas, fellas, ease up on Harry! He’s doing exactly what he’s paid to do–block anything remotely progressive from becoming law.

He’s earning his money. Even with 60 Dems and a pony, Harry Reid is not going to be bulldozed into doing anything positive for those who are not rich. Harry, and many of the other Democrats have made it clear that they are not interested in what their constituients want. They represent not voters, but major business interests.

How does a schlemiel like Reid stay in power? By giving the Senate Democrats just what they want. Poker wisdom says that if you don’t know which player at the table is the patsy, it’s you. We’re being sandbagged, and both parties are in on the play.

Let’s face it; Harry Reid, spineless wimp and accomodationist extraordinaire, would lower expectations if he had 90 votes in the Senate, let alone 60. “Of his 90-vote majority Reid said, ‘You have to remember that many members are from Republican-leaning states, and they have to take care not to overly-anger their right-wing constituents. After all, they serve all the people, not just Democrats.”

Reid is, to put it politely, weak tea. We need the Senatorial equivalent of Rahm Emmanuel in there–someone like LBJ, honestly. Reid? Not so much.

I’m sick of this Democratic Party unity. Time to get another leader who can really lead. We need the same kind of *** kicking leadership that the Repugnics have had when the criminal element was in the WH. Get in line Dems with what the people are saying and not what the lobbiest are giving you for your votes. Healthcare, the spying on Americans, torture (crimes against humanity) these should be very important and either voted for or have investigations with jail time issued for the all the perps.

Well I’ll just thank God that the Republicans had a bit more respect and integrity and did not change the rules when they very well could have. Were you all complaining about the Dems’ ‘tyranny’ when they refused to vote for Cloture repeatedly during the Republicans’ four years of control of both houses?

More to the point of the post and Dems ‘owning’ their accomplishments – they can start by owning today’s unemployment report and the failure of the massive stimulus package to thus far stimulate anything. Per Gibbs, it’s now Obama’s economy.

And of course the Dems will take credit for whatever good comes out of this congress and the repubs will blame them for whatever bad comes out of it – but 60 votes has nothing to do with it. Even the party with the bare majority always takes the full credit and blame – that’s politics.

This IS the problem, except for the one slight misstatement. The fact is… the DEems and Reps parties own, and have owned the government and are the root of its failures simply because the PARTY is more important than the nation and its citizens and gaining and keeping the power over the commoners is ALL important for BOTH parties.

these two groups have led us to near destruction but sadly, voters will as always, play as team members, voting in their own mobsters rather than the other teams mobsters, not realizing that this is NOT a game and neither party is actually on OUR side…
