Breaking: Palin Will Come To GOP Fundraiser, After All!!!

Sarah Palin will in fact be coming to tonight’s big fundraising gala, a GOP source tells me, despite her camp’s claim that she had been “snubbed” when the organizers let her know that she would not have a speaking role at the event.

But she will not be speaking, the source confirms, though he adds that there will be some kind of gesture of special recognition made towards her that separates her from other guests.

“She’s coming, not speaking,” the source says. “She will be recognized at the event.”

Of course, there are still a few hours to go, so you never know…

Even the Republicans are aware of Palin’s inability to utter anything resembling an intelligent, cohesive sentence. But she will be recognized because after all, the Republican’s still need the 20 people who will vote for Palin should she ever be allowed to run for office of any kind.

So she’ll be seen, not heard. How Republican.

    >>Even the Republicans are aware of Palin’s inability to utter anything resembling an intelligent, cohesive sentence.<<

Huh? Her speech at the GOP convention was by far the best of the week, and was only exceeded marginally by Obama’s. Her stump speeches were also extremely well executed.

Palin has many flaws, God knows. But she’s got the gift of charismatic public speaking. Her speechmaking abilities are fundamental to her appeal among her cult.

It is rather revealing that power-drunk Dems don’t remember this. She will be quite an irritant to Dems in 2010, and much-welcomed by the Reeps.

To Vail Beach – “charismatic public speaking”? “Her speech at the GOP convention was by far the best of the week, and was only exceeded marginally by Obama’s”? What are you smoking, and where can I get some? There is no comparison, none at all. For starters, Obama writes his own material. Palin does not. However, to point out the most important difference between the two, and to put it as succintly as possible, Palin’s a complete idiot and Obama is indcredibly intelligent. And they both prove that every time they open their mouths, iregardless of if it’s a prepared speech or impromptu speaking.

@Unsilent majority: Incredibly intelligent? No gaffes?
    Errrrr . . .

“44 Americans have taken the oath.”
Jokes about Nancy Reagan having séances in the White House. Later apologizes.
Forgets Madrid when listing al qaeda attacks outside US.
Calls the capitol of Canada, Iowa. (Sounds like Ottawa.)
    America invented the automobile.
    Mispronounces Orion.
The Special Olympics “joke.” Later apologizes.
    Thinks “Austrian” is a language.
Says Turkey is old compared to America. Turkey was founded in 1923.
    “Happy Cuatro de Cinco!”
    Constitution written 20 centuries ago.

    That’s a sample. C’mon now!

Let’s do the math. GOP share of USA voting public–21%
    Of Huckabee, Romney, and Palin–
3 way tie, w/ each, including Palin, getting 21%
Therefore, Palin’s share of USA voting public equals 7%
Bag it, Palin. Take your pettifoggery, your sorry self, and advance copies of The Sarah Palin Idiot’s Guide on How to Prolong Your 15 minutes of Fame back to Alaska.

Obama is the Forest Gump of politics — slow thinking, must read his speeches, gets ideas from his handlers. Looks like a babe in the political woods when visiting the other countries. Some one needs to teach Obama some accurate world history so he stops embarrassing Americans while giving his Forest Gump speeches in Europe. Read what the other countries’ news media say about him. 3 1/2 more years of this neighborhood organizer operating out of the White House.

The Conservative-Republican Party fracas shows how the party is well on its way to becoming a captive of its extreme wing. This episode shows that both Gingrich and Palin are factional heads. They need each other. Meanwhile…..

Palin had nearly a week to do nothing but practice a convention speech. After that she was back in seclusion except for giving parts of the same speech, even after some parts had been totally debunked. Ok, she can parrot a speech. She can even parrot lies. But she mangles sentences unless she has a week to practice the same lies, er speech.

Palin will be sloughed off if the strategic consensus (of those who actually wield power in the party) concludes someone else will likely be more successful electorally. That appears to be precisely the present situtation. Motivating or pleasing the base will be attempted in other ways. Limbaugh, Kristol and other prior supporters will find and convey reasons to turn their vocal affections elsewhere. They will still use Palin as a PR gimmick, at the very least by continuing the campaign suggesting she was savaged by the liberal media. The interesting question is whether Palin will be satisfied with this treatment and with whatever compensatory arrangement is offered.

I thinks Palin’s appeal, which many missed is that she is not contaminated by Washington or Chicago corruption and has shown that she doesn’t care what party you are in when it comes to corruption. This is likely contributing to the RNC establishment being slow to accept her. She’s still the new dog in town.

She also appears to be genuinely principled and ethical, even though George Soros dogs are sniffing around for any dustball.

She is a very good public speaker in terms of passion, energy, and crowd sense. I do think she tends to run on a bit in interviews, which I think is her biggest weakness. Sometimes, though, the words from her speeches don’t read as smooth as when you hear her speak the words, because of the pauses and emphasis and such.

Palin is new and so needs more familiarization among folks and perhaps more interview practice. As I understand it she writes most of her own speeches and essentially rewrote the convention speech and then went through without hitch, even when the prompter failed. Compare to Obama. I don’t believe he writes his own, and this is illustrated with his historic rate of teleprompter failures.

Palin going and not speakign is probably fine. She needs to build alliances in the RNC if she is going to continue on the RNC path.

I wish those who think Palin will be an effective Republican leader the best of luck. Living in a fantasy world is now di riguer for the wingnuts.
