AUDIO: Palin Robocall Urges Virginians To Vote For “Our Principles”

It’s all about her! Sarah Palin is pumping a robocall into Virginia urging voters in tomorrow’s gubernatorial election to vote — not for GOP candidate Bob McDonnell, but for “our principles.”

A local affiliate of NBC has the audio of the call, which was paid for by a conservative group called the “Freedom Coalition.” Listen:

The script makes no mention of McDonnell:

“Virginia, hello, this is Sarah Palin calling to urge you to go to the polls Tuesday and vote to share our principles. The eyes of America will be on Virginia and make no mistake about it, every vote counts. So don’t take anything for granted, vote your values on Tuesday, and urge your friends and family to vote, too.”

CNN’s Peter Hamby, who first posted the script, says Palin doesn’t mention McDonnell to avoid dissuading independent voters from backing him.

On the other hand, you probably couldn’t ask for a more perfect symbol of Palin’s apparent desire to cast GOP victories in tomorrow’s elections — particularly the one in New York’s 23rd — as referendums on, well, herself.

Update: CNN’s Hamby has since issued a correction, saying that cleaner audio he obtained reveals she actually called on Virgninians to “vote to share our principles,” and didn’t call for a vote for “Sarah’s principles,” as he initially reported. I’ve edited the above to clarify.

The eyes of AMerica are on you – all I can think of is Wanda Sykes’ tag line: “White people are looking at you!”

    You betcha.

Yeah, I want her dysfunctional family values to be a cornerstone of every family in my state!

    What a loon.

And peter hanby knows the mind of sarahcuda how ? What a pathetic hack.

Greg, the last graf nails it. She’s a cunning pol and the frigging press wouldn’t dare ask her what her “principles” were that were at stake at VA.

“She’s a cunning pol and the frigging press wouldn’t dare ask her what her “principles” were that were at stake at VA.”

I wish someone would. She’d stutter out something like “real America knows what they are. They’re with me.”

She’s such a piece of work – I really did put a timed release curse on the GOP and she’s the result I swear to god. I love her for all that she is: stupid, venal, mean, shallow, greedy and completely disconnected from reality.

    “Vote For “Sarah’s Principles””

Thanks, but I don’t want my daughters knocked up.

That because she won’t let the frigging press ask her any questions, that didn’t go too well for her last year. She’s hiding behind her handlers, her (Murcdoch) publisher, her facebook page and anything else she can think of in order to hide the fact that she really doesn’t know how to actually do anything but give a speech (for a lot of money I might add).

Wonder how much money changed hands for her to make this message promoting her future candidacy while purportedly backing McDonnell?
These right wing nut organizations have only a few, but a very wealthy few, contributors and Sarah is cashing in!

Hmmmm….if I recall correctly, Ms. Palin was against robocalls last year.

  9. amk | November 2nd, 2009 at 10:36 am

lmsinca – Why ? With hacks like that cnn idjit trying to get her back and cover for her, she has nothing to fear from the fifth columnist fourth estate.

I especially like her “principle” of quitting before the job’s even done. With Women like her setting examples for our kids who needs “Octomom”.

  11. Tena | November 2nd, 2009 at 10:39 am

    “lmsinca – Why ”

    Katie Couric? For one.

Sarah is not about to let the media get ahold of her again like that.

    People Of Virginia:

    Vote For Sarah’s Principles:

When you go to vote, figure out which candidate is most likely to quit, halfway through their first term, and vote for that person.

    I Remain:

    Yours In Unintentional Irony;

    Sarah Quitter Palin.

They have sown the wind, and they will reap the whirlwind.

I guess Dick Armey was too busy campaigning in NY23 to make the call.

  16. lmsinca | November 2nd, 2009 at 10:48 am

Maybe she could get a 30 minute slot with Wallace like Rush. That was fun to watch. Making the election about herself seems really weird to me, maybe she really is setting herself up for a run for the WH. She still has a year and a half or so before she’d have to do some kind of REAL interview.

  17. amk | November 2nd, 2009 at 10:50 am

Siena Nov 2 poll on NY 23

hoffman-owens 41 to 36. More interesting – Undecided up to 18%. If owens pulls of the unimaginable, will that twit from tundras shut up ? Doubtful.

  18. Tena | November 2nd, 2009 at 10:52 am

“maybe she really is setting herself up for a run for the WH. ”

I’d think so except she’s stood a number of GOP up on speaking engagements – she’s just failed to show. They only reason they aren’t dismissing her is because they think she really is the Pied Piper and can do no wrong with the base.

BWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! -the GOP just doesn’t have any memory, short or long term – they forgot the entire plot of the several hundred Frankenstein movies, nevermind the book.

I think my very very favorite Sarah story is her answering the door wearing only a towel during the campaign.

That is Sarah. As I said the other day: Someone needs to tell Sarah that a woman can go only so far with a wink and no further.

  20. sbj | November 2nd, 2009 at 11:17 am

“If owens pulls of the unimaginable.”

Huh? CW just awhile back was that Owens would win due to a conservative split. Now you have the Republican backing the Dem. The unimaginable occurs if the third party Hoffman wins.

  21. amk | November 2nd, 2009 at 11:24 am

“The unimaginable occurs if the third party Hoffman wins.”

That I agree. It’ll be a horror show from gop.

Yes sir….that’s what the US needs more of..Sarah’s principals….yes sir..just ask the folks in Alaska how they liked Sarah’s principals and how they’re working out for them…Or better yet tune into Boss Limmberger’s radio show and listen for a few minutes of his venomous spew to get a flavor of Sarah’s principals….yes sir..just uh rollin along..tune into John Wilkes Beck’s show…get another does fo Sarah’s principals…..yup….about had my fill now…ohh, I’m feeling a bit sick to my stomach …uh-oh…gonna loose my lunch in JW Beck’s studio after my latest plate of sarah’s principals… BBBBLLLLLAAAAAWWWWWWUUUUEEEE!!!!! Opoops, all over CLuster-Fox’s studio walls….uh-oh……to big a dose of Sarah’s principals….

POOF!! The dream is over – back to work…that wasn’t a very enjoyable little dream…Humm, let’s make sure that NEVER happens in reality….

Owens had a better chance in NY23 before the Republican dropped out. If you live anywhere near that district, you know that every ad on tv has been political for weeks. Millions are being spent to get Hoffman (who doesn’t even live there) elected. Big name former Republican office holders, like former Gov. Pataki and Sen. Fred Thompson, are appearing in the ads.

Both sides of the spectrum and both parties have used robocalls from prominent pols for years, but now a Palin robcall must mean “it’s all about her.” Haha.

Nice correction — perfect example of liberals hearing what they want to hear.

  25. lmsinca | November 2nd, 2009 at 01:30 pm

What’s interesting about the correction is that most of us thought Palin capable of using her name and Principles in a Robo call in another state. She’s the antithesis of what some of us think of when we ponder the qualities we admire in strong women with leadership qualities, family values, thought processes etc. I know, some would say we drank the Kool aid, but anyone who quits their job as Governor and then goes on to campaign for other Governors and Conservative leaders seems capable of just about anything.

  26. Brandon | November 2nd, 2009 at 05:41 pm

Shouldn’t one have values before claiming to have them?

If she does have values then only the dregs of society would share them with her.

Please just go back to Alaska and shut that hate hole!

  27. PDS | November 2nd, 2009 at 09:31 pm

“What’s interesting about the correction is that most of us thought Palin capable of using her name and Principles in a Robo call in another state.”

I dunno, Palin Derangement Syndrome isn’t *that* interesting.

We’ve seen a large increase in robocall complaints posted to callcatalog.com
