Poll: Only 37% Think Obama Is Doing Too Much
The gang at MSNBC’s First Read previews some key numbers in an NBC poll that’s coming out later today:
Just 37% believe that President Obama is taking on too many issues and is not focused enough on the most important ones.
That’s compared with 60% who say that Obama is focused on all of these issues because the country is facing so many problems.
This could be one reason that we’ve stopped hearing Republicans claim that Obama is moving too fast and doing too much: The public doesn’t seem to agree.
Obviously when it comes to getting health care through, the devil will be in the policy details. But it’s striking that the public appetite for ambitious government action seems to be holding strong, even as the full magnitude of what Obama will be attempting has become clear.

Certainly it wouldn’t have occurred to the LGBT community that Obama has been doing too much!
And then there are those of us who are impatient with what is NOT being done and angry with what IS being done.
Just different priorities I suppose.
With every new disappointment I am less and less willing to cut Obama slack and give him time. This latest DOMA issue and the sop he’s trying hastily to throw the LGBT community is about the last straw — and I am straight, so no “dog in the fight” other than my high hopes for “change.”
This Peggy Noonan-like poll question is as dumb as if they asked, “Should the president really be this nice?”
Only reason GOP would push that message is because its harder for them to torpedo half a dozen Obama initiatives at the same time rather than just one.
Like the president said to Brian Williams, what is they would like him to give up?
