Breaking: Blunt Spokesman Confirms He Believes Obama Is Legit President

I just had another go around with GOP Rep. Roy Blunt’s spokesman, and he confirmed by email that Blunt does, in fact, believe that Barack Hussein Obama was born in the United States and is legitimately our 44th president.

“Of course he does,” Rich Chrismer, the spokesman for Blunt’s Senate camapign, emailed.

As noted below, I initially asked Chrismer for clarification of Blunt’s comments yesterday in a FireDogLake interview, in which he said the birthers have a “legitimate question.” Chrismer accused the interviewer of editing quotes, but wouldn’t say whether Blunt viewed Obama as the legitimate president.

After that, FireDogLake posted the full video, which quoted Blunt saying he doesn’t “have any reason not to believe” Obama wasn’t born in the U.S. Chrismer then emailed to take credit:

We are pleased this blog was pressured to release the unedited video so now everyone can see how they took Roy Blunt’s comments out of context. He did not state that he doubted that President Obama was born in the United States and did not suggest Obama is not the President.

Since this still doesn’t clarify what Blunt does believe, I asked again whether Blunt believes Obama was born in the U.S. and whether he’s legitimately president. Chrismer replied:

Of course he does and this is clear in the unedited interview.

This isn’t really clear from the interview, but it’s certainly clear now, even if it took a bit of effort…

That should never ever have to be a breaking news headline. WTF has this country become?

  2. Greg Sargent | July 30th, 2009 at 02:52 pm

Mike — that was exactly my point in using “breaking”…glad you got it :)

  3. jzap | July 30th, 2009 at 02:55 pm

Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them.  That’s why I threw a fair chunk of change Al Franken’s way.  He’s not afraid to use the L-word when the shoe fits.

Rachel Maddow last night danced all around that word, calling the Deathers (GOOPers who claim healthcare will pressure seniors to forego treatment) dissemblers, prevaricators, yada yada… everything but the plain-English word that fits best — liars.

Blunt and his spokesman are liars.

This episode certainly does show Mike Stark in a poor light. What a jerk.

  5. sgwhiteinfla | July 30th, 2009 at 03:11 pm

LOL sbj I am sure you were a fan of his before yesterday huh?

  6. sbj | July 30th, 2009 at 03:22 pm

@sg: I had watched that longer video (that you initially pointed me to BTW) and thought that he had some pretty good gotcha moments. Mind you, he only caught one Rep out of, I believe, 14 who would agree that Obama might not be legitimate. But I thought he was doing some good O’Reilly type of jackass gotcha reporting.

Turns out he selectively edited to make Blunt appear to support the birthers, even though Stark himself acknowledged – twice – that Blunt agreed that Obama was legit.

That’s what I call a jerk. I’d think you would agree. After all, you used his stuff as some sort of proof and it turns out that he got caught red-handed not providing the full story.

  7. mike from Arlington | July 30th, 2009 at 03:26 pm

Regarding the deathers thing, a representative of AARP was on the Randi Rhodes show. This claim coming from Republicans trying to scare older/retirees is completely unfounded according to the AARP spokes person.

I don’t recall seeing many AARP folks being interviewed on blogs or MSM regarding this issue. I’d really like to see a few interviews since this argument is really breaking through, as could be seen by some of the questioning Obama received in both the Kroger town hall in Bristol and the twitter questions he received.

This scare tactic needs to be stomped out ASAP.

  8. sgwhiteinfla | July 30th, 2009 at 03:31 pm

    sbj

You do realize that Blount DOES support the birthers right? Even though he is now saying he believes President Obama is a natural born citizen, he was clear in saying in the video that he thought the birthers’ claims were valid and that President Obama should produce his birth certificate (which he has already done). I guess you don’t understand a wink and a nod in politics. The sad part is you can bet over August break more Congressmen including probably Blount will be accosted by birthers in their home states and I guarantee you he won’t denounce them at all.

  9. sbj | July 30th, 2009 at 03:41 pm

@sg: sigh … The proof of underhanded editing and selective quoting is staring you in the face! Stark acknowledged twice that Blunt says Obama is legit.

(A nod’s as good as a wink to a blind bat.)

  10. sgwhiteinfla | July 30th, 2009 at 03:41 pm

    sbj

So are you saying Blount doesn’t support birthers?

  11. sbj | July 30th, 2009 at 03:56 pm

@sg: Fine – I’ll play but you have to go first! Stark: good reporting or a clear case of underhanded skullduggery?

  12. sgwhiteinfla | July 30th, 2009 at 03:58 pm

    sbj

That was good reporting. Hell he can’t help it if you assumed he was inferring that Blount was saying President Obama isn’t a natural born citizen. If you watched the whole thing his intent was to get the lawmakers to say that the birthers were loony toons. Which Blount would not do. Notice how with most of them he started off with the premise that they themselves weren’t birthers.

Now, does Blount support birthers or not?

  13. sbj | July 30th, 2009 at 04:05 pm

@sg: I’m gobsmacked at your reply.

    My turn. No. Easy.

  14. Chris | July 30th, 2009 at 04:28 pm

@ sbj, man up. You have no credibility on this. You related the birthers to 9/11 truthers but have yet to provide one single incumbent Democrat that gave credo to the truthers like the GOP has with the birthers. There is no comparison. I do love how you blame ‘gotcha media’ though. Classic Republican conspiracy theorist.

  15. sbj | July 30th, 2009 at 04:38 pm

    “Credence,” Chris. Credence.

  16. Chris | July 30th, 2009 at 04:48 pm

@ sbj, no credo. Latin: to give truth to. Had four years of college Latin. Now how about providing one single incumbent Democrat that gave truth to the 9/11 truthers like the GOP has with the birthers????

  17. sar | July 30th, 2009 at 07:11 pm

What a bunch of blind liberal morons. When has ANY big government ANYTHING worked? Name a place or time in history from any country or any region of the world. All you are supporting is BIG GOVERNMENT. This isn’t about Obama helping anybody, this is about him creating a huge government legacy. Ask any small business owner how much help that the government is giving them. Want to know the answer…ZERO. Why??? Because his plan is to dismantle capitalism and institute a huge government machine. Why else would he not support small businesses, as they are a source of 85% of our economy? Give me an INTELLIGENT and coherent answer without emotion and I will listen, otherwise be quite and be prepared to work for some government agency soon. Maybe you like people telling you how to live your life? Not me, live free or die!

  18. rajjajinn | July 30th, 2009 at 07:19 pm

i just have one question for ALL you educated intellectual genius’s. . . . . if people like you run the world. . . .why is it so srewed-up ? and who’s responsible for this mess ! does anyone want to be held accountable ? or just keep losing the plebes in your ambiguous rhetoric. guess what ? the gigs up !

  19. mdb | July 30th, 2009 at 07:29 pm

@sar: So what you’re telling us is because the government is NOT helping the small businesses, it’s a big government?

But, I assume, when it helps disadvantaged people, it IS a big government.

    I’m confused…

LOU DUBBS of CNN, hiding under woman skirt, is one of the Newscasters that mislead the public. If you want to know, go to Hawaii State and find out for yourself. LOU DUBBS is a coward and number one public enemy. He should be fired from CNN. His presence makes CNN drop in polls and credibility.

  21. Gerry Pollak | July 30th, 2009 at 08:21 pm

Hey Rajjajinn: Just for the record, you asked 3 questions. :-)

  22. EMG | July 30th, 2009 at 08:30 pm

Before you label people “deathers” and assume it is not so, you should read what Ezekial Emmanuel says about this. It is called comparative effectiveness research. When a surgery is required, they divide the cost of the procedure with the years left in the person’s life to decide IF the person gets the surgery. This IS LAW — it was passed in the stimulus bill! You need to start educating yourselves instead of calling other people names. Our country is going right down the toilet. Do you KNOW how much a 2 trillion dollar debt IS?!?!?

  23. Joe Biden | July 30th, 2009 at 08:37 pm

“Now how about providing one single incumbent Democrat that gave truth to the 9/11 truthers like the GOP has with the birthers????” Keith Ellison from MN not only lent credence but made the standard Bush/Hitler reference you hypocrites whine about when they compare BO to Hitler. Here’s a little more for you from 5/15/07 LATimes – “Democrats in America are evenly divided on the question of whether George W. Bush knew about the 9/11 terrorist attacks in advance. Thirty-five percent of Democrats believe he did know, 39% say he did not know and 26% are not sure.” Darn those facts, gotta love you hypocrite dimoturds with the really short memories. Tell your handlers to update your pathetic talking points.

  24. Paul | July 30th, 2009 at 08:38 pm

    Children Children Children
Why can we not accept that he is the president, elected, voted for and liked by most of America, As person. I like him. I may not agree with all he is trying to do, but I will support him in the things that i agree with, and I will yell, like every one else about the things I do not agree with. But he is the Persident of these United States. So GROW UP!!!!!!!!!

  25. Chris H. | July 30th, 2009 at 08:43 pm

Unfortunately, Blunt saying “I think he’s legitimate (constitutionally qualified)” is entirely inadequate proof of the fact. How bout we start out with a look at Obama’s original long form BC — can’t imaging a guy born in the good ol US of A would have problem with that (considering literally millions of the citizens he serves are calling for him to release it, not to mention hundreds of military men of all ranks, as well as several state and federal lawmakers, and various prominent media/news figures..

Not exactly building confidence in the country by refusing to release original BC, as well as numerous other quite basic personal documents such as medical records, college transcripts, etc.

  26. Charles | July 30th, 2009 at 08:44 pm

To sar, Gov’t ain’t perfect but, how about the New Deal, WWII, inter-state highway system, Tennesee Valley Authority, universal public education, Marshall Plan, FDA, anti trust laws, food and product safety laws, Social Security, Medicare and Medicade, national defense, NASA, NOAH, National Institute of Health, FAA, yes even FEMA, (before it was turned into a dumping ground for political contributors.) Would we be better off today if we the people had let the financial system fail? Next time you depart and arrive alive on an air plane, drink clean water, eat uncontaminated food etc. etc. etc. Government provides an educated, healthy worker force and a stability, without which your small business owners would be operating in a third world environment. P.S. we are the government, we the people. If government is always the problem, then aren’t we as a collective nation the problem?

  27. Chris H. | July 30th, 2009 at 08:49 pm

    Re Joe Bidens comment above:

Even more pertinent is last years New York times reporting enthusiastically celebrating the fact that JOHN MCCAIN may not be eligible for the Presidency! Where was the outrage? Oh no, the NYT and McCain opposition were more than happy to pump it up –until of course McCain released his “original” BC, and Med records too — and this was BEFORE he was elected! Cmon Obama you arrogant SOB, why wont you release some info ??

  28. J.Morris | July 30th, 2009 at 08:50 pm

    EMG,
Insurance companies are doing this exact thing already. I work in HC and people tell me all the time how their insurance company has refused to pay for/authorize a procedure or medication. You can still get it of course, as long as you pay for it yourself. People are being turned away and declined already in this country. Most of the ’scary’ parts about Canadian HC already exists in some form in this country. We pay a hell of a lot more for it and get less coverage. Most Americans would get far better coverage under a real Canadian/European style system than what they have now. And they’d pay less for it.

This problem has been simmering for decades and no one has had the cojones to tackle it. “HC (being that)… 3rd rail in American politics”

Sad, there is so much hype, rumor and misinformation out there. The GOP is trying to stampede the masses with fear & innuendo.

  29. UpChuck | July 30th, 2009 at 08:50 pm

If our government is of the people, by the people and for the people then what is wrong with big governmnent? If this a democracy they You are the government. Those who have enormous wealth have always opposed true democracy because it gives power to those who have nothing, which they find quite fearful. In their world, money rules, not majority. They have a legitimate concern about big government. the less power the masses have, the better. For the rest of us, the government is our only power– both the source and protecter of our freedom and our rights. The rule of law, the constitution has no meaning without a government. Republicans hate big government– except when they control it!

  30. wildbill69 | July 30th, 2009 at 08:55 pm

Long form i start to believe, without it he’s a fraud. I’m willing to be proven wrong, but the CHOSEN ONE has something to hide. The guy is a FREELOADER who has made the same investment in this country as ILLEGALS have. Without a FREE ride or a job they BOTH return to the country they call HOME !!!!!!!! Good riddance to BOTH !!!!!!!!!

  31. Charles | July 30th, 2009 at 08:57 pm

Chris H. I was also very concerned but I’m glad to be able to tell you he’s already released the info. It was always there to look at. I’m suprised someone didn’t see it earlier. You can see his birth certificate on line. They’ve shown it on TV so many times I can’t count. They shown his birth announcements the day he was born in the local Honolulu news papers. I’m glad that was cleared up. Now we can rest easy.

  32. Chris H. | July 30th, 2009 at 08:58 pm

Most people are under the false delusion that health care is some fundamental, inalienable birithright which they are owed because they were lucky enough to be born in the USA.

THIS IS NOT THE CASE — Health care is a product, like a house, car ,etc. Everyone doesn’t get to live in a Ferrari, or Mansion just because. If you want the best health care, its here for the taking in the USA, just got to pay the going rate… If you want the cheap stuff, if thats all you can afford, or if you are just cheap and happeng to be responsible for your own health and well being, so be it…

MANY of people waste their money on creature comforts but complain about healthcare being to expensive…what a load of BS…

  33. Kaseam | July 30th, 2009 at 09:00 pm

Charles: Great response to Sar. LOL. I don’t think anyone is a huge fan of big government, but sometimes you have to be aware of all the facts before shouting a bunch of nonsense. There are pros and cons to just about anything, including the almighty Capitalism. Regardless of what is believed to be good for this country, it still has to perform well for it to work.

  36. Chris H. | July 30th, 2009 at 09:02 pm

Well Charles, since there’s obviously nothing to hide, and he’s got time to have beers and take million $ vacations and such, perhaps he could indulge us and just go ahead and release the critical documentation eh? Wouldn’t be so hard I don’t think..

I wish I could tell the guy at my job interview or the DMV to check out by (short form) BC online, or that Gov of HI says I’m good, or a couple of congressmen can vouch for me, but unfortunately, they still want to see the real thing, go figure?

  37. J.Morris | July 30th, 2009 at 09:05 pm

Re: Chris & Joe Biden above: I am an avid political consumer and I read the NYT among many other things. If there was some issue about McCain’s birth certificate, it was short-lived and a non-starter.
As far as I am concerned if his parent(s) is/were citizens, then so is McCain/Obama. This issue gets more and more ridiculous.

Obama was born in HI. The ‘birthers’ have Obama’s mom giving birth in Kenya BEFORE she was issued a passport. She was a young teenaged woman, married to a black man in 1961. Seriously, how many ’strings’ do you think she could have pulled to get to another country, deliver her baby then arrange for a news posting in a HI paper, alluding to her baby’s birth locally? Why would they have done that? in 1961, to travel to the other side of the world to deliver in a 3rd world country vs the best country in the world, to travel so far when so close to being term? It just doesn’t wash, people. The grandmother who says he was born there? She didn’t understand what was being asked, it was thru a translator. She immediately corrected herself.

This has all escalated since the inauguration. Don’t you think if there had been ANY substance to this, Hilary wouldn’t have been ALL over this before the election? The Clintons are ambitious and certainly not afraid to play hardball. There is nothing there!!!!
Obama HAS shown his BC. Multiple times. What seems not to compute with you guys is the fact that a black man sits in the WH. That is what drives some people nuts ( and I mean that literally)

  38. Charles | July 30th, 2009 at 09:08 pm

Oh, I see. It’s the critical documentation he wasn’t released. And here I thought the issue was solved. By the way, just so I’ll know, what is the crital documentation? When I went to get a pass port, I showed them my birth certificate. I wasn’t aware there was another piece of critical documentation needed to prove I was born in this country. Please enlighten me so I can make sure all my critical documentation is in order.

  39. Chris H. | July 30th, 2009 at 09:09 pm

Remember people — it doesn’t even matter if the birth certificate thing is rational (it so happens that the evidence for doubting Obamas birthplace and more importantly, his “natuaral born” status is quite overwhelming).

The simple fact is, the president serves US, we don’t serve him. If we ask him for the docs, he should “Yessir!” and release that info immediately! This guy seems to think its the other way around — that he doesn’t have to do anything unless he feels like it — an absolute insult to the American populace. And half the people in the country would back him without question if he announced he was outlawing the constitution– we don’t live in a dictorship folks ( or do we??)

  40. Charles | July 30th, 2009 at 09:12 pm

Chris, what DOCS should we ask him for again?

  41. Kaseam | July 30th, 2009 at 09:13 pm

Chris, to compare Healthcare to products like cars and houses is lame. Health care is not a commodity that people shop for, and quality of care must always be compromised when the motivating factor for corporations is to save money through denial of care and decreasing provider costs. Corporations are able to buy politicians through our campaign finance system and control the media to convince people that corporate health care is democratic, represents freedom, and is the most efficient system for delivering health care.

  42. Chris H. | July 30th, 2009 at 09:15 pm

Well Charles, if Obama wanted to get a passport, I think they “might” take the short form — but if you check the policy at US immigration, you may find they require something with a bit more info than what he has demonstrated.

But in case you weren’t aware, Obama is the de facto president of the USA, and under the constitution, there are a few minor conditions he’s got to meet. Additionally, since he’s commander in Chief of the military and the highest Executive official we have, I think he owes us a little transparency into his background — not too much to ask — say, the same thing as a security clearance: Original BC, college transcripts, medical records, etc.

Just because you trust the guy doesn’t mean we all have to blindly accept him with no background info …

  43. J.Morris | July 30th, 2009 at 09:21 pm

Chris, He HAS released his info. Sev times over. Nothing seems to satisfy you and others, because your minds are already made up. My support for the Constitution is strong and overwhelming; I swore an oath to protect and defend it over any individual or party for 20 yrs.

I don’t see his acts as ‘unConstitutional’; I see conservatives getting themselves tied into knots over things they THINK Obama is going to do. Freq despite him saying the exact opposite.
We live in a nation where we tried to impeach a president over a ***** stain on a dress; If there are causes for impeachment or removal from office, the process will play itself out. For now nada.

The closest thing to a dictatorship and true fascist rule happened from 2001-2006, with the abuses of the Bush admin.

  44. Chris H. | July 30th, 2009 at 09:21 pm

    Kaseam,
I think your post is entirely incorrect on every single point — that is if we are using rational thought as a background.

Healthcare, whether you want it to be or not, is a product/commodity. I don’t think you are going to get around that one anytime soon unless you can repeal the laws of economics.

Personally, I’d rather have the freedom to choose who provides my healthcare, than be forced to use the healthcare the federal gov’t thinks I should have.

Im just curious, what would be your ultimate health care set up in the USA, Soviet style state-run with no free market choice at all?

  45. sheila crone | July 30th, 2009 at 09:23 pm

Anita, thank you for saying what I wanted to say.

  46. Kaseam | July 30th, 2009 at 09:23 pm

There would be free choice of health care providers under a single payer universal health care system, unlike our current managed care system in which people are forced to see providers on the insurer’s panel to obtain medical benefits

  47. Kaseam | July 30th, 2009 at 09:27 pm

The Loss Of Freedom Of Choice is a Myth.

  48. Chris H. | July 30th, 2009 at 09:27 pm

    J Morris,

If US citizens possessed evidence of the fact that the US president was Constitutionally ineligible to hold office, what recourse would we have to bring the matter to light?

And as I stated and you ignored, above — this isn’t ONLY a constitutional issue, this is a case of our Cheif Executive ignoring the will of millions of citizens, not asking for anything too fancy, just a simple background check like a federal employee would get for a security clearance. Don’t you think he ought to give us that? This isn’t a few citizens – -this is MILLIONS of Americans, hundreds if not thousands of milatary (who have a unique standing of their own to ask for such info), and even several state & federal lawmakers — watching the president, you’d almost think he was unaware of all the commotion — though thats quite impossible..

  49. Charles | July 30th, 2009 at 09:28 pm

ChrisH, now I see. If they existed, he would show them. But since he won’t show them, they don’t exist. Since they don’t exist, he’s an illegal alien. Isn’t it frightening that during the campaign no one did a background check, the FBI, RNC, McCain Campaign, Clinton campaign or anyone else to see if he were eligible to run? I’ll bet McCain and Clinton must be kicking themselves right now. No one asked him to prove he was born in America? Gee, how many other leaders and politicians are illegal aliens. Probably alot, since we don’t seem to have a system to do back ground checks. Also, it was a smart touch on the part of his parents to place those birth announcements in the papers.

  50. Chris H. | July 30th, 2009 at 09:33 pm

And by the way, J. Morris — I’m not complaining about his actions … you seem to think I have a problem with his politics. No, just with his character as he seems to think he’s no answerable to the US citizenry.

And you say he has released his info several times over — don’t you mean he has released his short form colb once on the internet. I can’t think of anything else he has release to indulge the doubters…

  51. Chris H. | July 30th, 2009 at 09:37 pm

    Charles,
I never said they didn’t exist — perhaps thats your conclusion. I’m quite sure they do exist, thats why so many people are irate that he refuses to release the info.

If anyone gave him an authentic, FBI style background check I and many millions of people would be quite curious to see the report and copies of the documentation which would inevitably have been made.. alas, I don’t believe any official has come out with any such background check/report …

Finally, it is still insufficient evidence that he is eligible for the presidency, just because you think somebody else checked him out somewhere along the way — in fact, thats not even sufficient evidence to play little league baseball — they still want to see the ORIGINAL bc — As the saying goes “show me the money…”

  52. Afam Anyakora | July 30th, 2009 at 09:37 pm

LOU DUBBS has used CNN to spread falsity, and deceive American public. Freedom of press is not license for siding with GOP delusional state, ignore the obvious truth, and diminish office of US presidency. LOU DUBBS likes nobody but himself. Where was Senator John Maccain born?. Would LOU DUBBS apply same scrutiny standards if the senator had won the election?. I think not. CNN should get LOU DUBBS off the air [TV and radio stations].

  53. Chris H. | July 30th, 2009 at 09:42 pm

Oh yeah, I tried giving a newspaper clipping of my birth announcement at the DMV to get my driver’s license renewed but, can you believe it, they wouldn’t give it to me — then I went down to the passport office and they said the same thing. I think you get the point — birth announcements are entirely devoid of any proof of place of birth.

HOOOOOO HUMMMMM, to all the birthers and deathers non- newssense.
“you just can’t cure stupid.” I don’t have anything further to add.

  55. Chris H. | July 30th, 2009 at 09:52 pm

Well Joy, there are folks that appreciate great intellectual arguments like your profound “you just can’t cure stupid”, but thank goodness, about half the population still prefers a well-reasoned, grounded-in-logic approach. To each his own I guess…

I am a “Birther.” I personally feel that the evidence FOR his birth in Hawaii is overwhelming, but not absolute. I personally feel evidence he was born in Kenya (or anywhere else outside the USA)is very little and very weak, but such evidence is NOT,as so many of his supporters claim, absolutely non-existent. So why am I a birther? Simple !!! There is one thing I cannot get past. WHY is he fighting SO HARD to avoid the simple step of releasing his Original Birth Certificate? WHAT IS HE AFRAID OF ??? Why is he passing up the opportunity to make his critics out to be laughing stocks of all the comic shows? Jay Leno ! Conan O’Brian! SNL! That man is hiding something !!!

Give it up people. You can’t make a point with people like Chris H. Nothing satisfies the guy. He’s so full of himself. Can anyone tell? At this point, it will take the almighty GOD to convince people that Obama is a US Citizen. Even that won’t work for an Atheist.

You could follow Jim Jones argument — (there really isn’t an argument there but an invalid assertion).

Or, you could actually read my comment and conclude that I would be very much satisfied if our de factor CIC would produce only a few specific, and quite standard pieces of background information.

I think we can all see that Mr. Jones above is not doing a very good job of ignoring my very basic and reasonable argument…

Jim Jones also illustrates a point that we must be very careful in the USA. The general populace has grown complacent and (dare I say) ignorant to a degree that they would illogically support our elected officials, blinded by ideology in such a way that they are willingly glad to fight for allegiance to the man, rather than face reasonable or logical arguments to the contrary. This, is how dictorships and tyrrannies are started.

In America, one should remember that its ok to question our public officials. In this case, I haven’t even said anything about Obamas politics or insulted anyone and already his followers (best term) are coming out of the woodwork to condemn anyone who would dare question his intentions. Orwellien stuff…

Here’s the thing with President Barrack Obama and the issue of whether or not he is a natural-born citizen. Just because you were born in America does not make you a natural-born citizen. The Dr. Fukino of Hawaii Health Services had no authority to declsre that Obama was a natural-born at all. That is what is so wrong with everything. There are so many confusing things in this issue that people do not know all the different things going on with the issue. If Obama was born in Hawaii not Kenya fine that does not really matter or does not make him a natural born citizen. When he was born in Hawaii he is a native born citizen automatically by common law. Go to Fight the Smears (Obamas own website) and he states he is a native-born citizen. Sop right there it tells us that by Hawaii Dr. Fukino of Health Services should not be saying he is a natural born citizen and anyway the natural-born aspect is granted by natural law of our US Gov’t. Obama’s father was he a American Citizen that is the real question because if his father was not a American citizen then Barrack Obama can not truly be a natural-born citizen. The natural-born citizen was a requirement by our constitution to prevent citizens whom or could have alligience to another nation such as Britian or any country from becoming the President of the USA. This alligience is determined by the father of a child. So when Barack Obama was born if his father was not a US Citizen and was a Kenyan (British) citizen that means that Barack takes the same alligience as his father and therefore can not be the President of the United States of America. But then you have others that talk about other things about whether he was born in Hawaii and even the White House. It is just confusion that they want to make between the public when the real issue is something else.

For a small and insignificant group (something less than 1/10,000th of 1% of the population) this issue will never resolve…and so too, there will always be some portion of the media, be it thru television, radio, newspaper, or internet, willing to cover whatever remnants of the controversy persist.
The mistake made was to provide ANY documentation whatsoever at the beginning of the “Real American swiftboating”… that just gave the fanatics something to hang there hat on.

It should have been a non-starter from the get go and the Obama campaign should have simply said: the issue was brought up way too late, we feel the “statute of limitations” has ran out on it long ago… that is to say, it is not a serious consideration for anyone so late in the game to question the citizenship of a fellow American that has — held jobs, lived, married, had children, paid taxes, bought a house, attended school, taught at a university, is a member of a state bar and practiced law in that state, is a member of a political party, has been elected and served in a state legislature, has been elected to and served in the federal congress, has written laws, has co-signed congression bills, has been nominated by his party for president, and holds a US Passport — all within the confines of the United States.

Now, it has morphed into (and what else really could it have ended up as) a demand that Obama and the Administration and whoever else they can suck into this blackhole… a demand that they “prove the negative”.

Which of course is impossible, and so it will go on ad infinitum for the fanatical less than 1/10,000th of 1% of the population.

They must issue one statement and then hit the ignore button.
That statement is: whoever disputes Obama’s citizenship must provide absolute and incontrovertible proof he was born somewhere other than where he says he was born. Not hearsy, not interviews, not mathematical calculations and statistical logistics, but absolute and incontrovertible written, reviewable, verifiable, hard copy proof of birth somewhere other than where he says he was born.
Meanwhile, ignore all other outlying data presented by the wingnut crowd.

Again we see with the above commentary from bocephus_josephus above, a very ignorant and backward argument. The president of the USA is beholden to the citizens, not the other way around. You describe the situation as the Obama is a king, and whatever he wishes to provide, state, hide, etc is his prerogative. Please see my earlier post comparing folks with this mentality vs. those who recognize in the USA, we do things a little different — not only is it OK to question the pres, but it should be encouraged as a check against his power.

The 1/10,000th of 1% statement is conjecture and baseless. This is the certain warning sign of an ignoramus who blindly follows the man, regardless of whats legal or just.

I’ll explain this one more time — There are MILLIONS of citizens who want to see background documentation on Obama. Basic stuff, an original BC, medical records, arrest records, senate records, etc. Anyone who thinks the president has no obligation (not necessarily a legal one, but an ethical one) to make that information available to the citizenry is doing his own country a disservice, and is in fact more dangerous to our republic than those who simply question is background.

The time lines, places, actions, motives, when analyzed, support, and are consistent with, what is the answer to the Obama birth puzzle:

Obama’s grandmother is his mother and his mother is his sister.

Think about it. Review all the facts and claims.
