Rush: Newt Can Retract Sotomayor “Racist” Claim, But I’m Not Retracting Squat

On his show just now, Rush Limbaugh professed himself bewildered by Newt Gingrich’s retraction of his claim that Sonia Sotomayor is a “racist,” and reiterated that he’s not backing off the charge, putting the talk show host at odds with one of the few GOP leaders who’d been willing to keep up the attacks on Sotomayor in the face of mounting opposition.

“I just heard right before the show started,” Rush said, referring to the fact that Gingrich acknowledged today that he shouldn’t have described Sotomayor as a racist.

“I didn’t know why he retracted it and I still don’t,” Rush said.

As for his own claim that Sotomayor is a racist, Rush said: “I’m not retracting it, nobody’s refuting it…Nobody’s saying I’m wrong, nobody’s saying I’m making it up.”

“When she says, `she’d do a better job than a white guy,’ what is it? Racism? reverse racism?” Rush continued, according to our reporter, Beth Marlowe. “She’d bring a form of racism to the court.”

All in all, not a good day for the “Sotomayor is a racist” wing of the GOP, and yet another sign of the continued GOP disarray sparked by the attacks that some in the party have launched against Obama’s SCOTUS pick.

Hmmm is he not attacking Newt for flip flopping? If he isn’t then that means Limbaugh might actually be showing fear or deference for a few GOPers whom he knows won’t boy down to him. I wonder if the fact that Cornyn hasn’t backed down will embolden other Republicans to step away from Rush.

Ok…sorry Greg, I am off point with this, but good lord…have you seen this??? All I can say is…it figures it would be some guy from Henry County, Georgia (my State, not my County thank god)…this is almost hysterical, but gives slight pause since the murder of Dr. Tiller I don’t know if you should ignore this or what??

This from a drug dealer who calls the president a ‘magic negro.’

O.K. Chris, be accurate, he was a user not a pusher. The problem is that too many people, and that is probably the majority in the U.S. identify themselves by race instead of species. We’re all human and our real differences are cultural, but many just can’t get by surface features. Nobody chooses their parents, but they can be either positive or negative influences in our lives. Eventually however, we make our own decisions and behave by our own values. If you identify yourself racially, you’re at a disadvantage.

    Right on RUSH!
Sotomayor is a a Member of La Raza. Their western wing is so darn delusional about the California Professor’s mythical AZTLAN that they honestly don’t understand why we have a border patrol.

Any female that that think they are smarter than a male or male that thinks that they than a female are smarter simply by virtue of sexual appendages is a sexist.

Any Hispanic or Black that thinks that they are smarter than any one else, just as any Caucasian who though such tripe would be a racist.

So NOW courtesy of OBAMA’S Change, we WILL have a RACIST and Sexist SCOTUS nominee that fits in with OBAMA’S world but will fail in the real world’s SCOTUS.

“If the glove doesn’t fit, you must acquit”
Sotomayer doesn’t fit the glove of a Supreme Court (US) Justice.

Hopeless. She never said it was because she was a women,or a Latina, she said she thought she would make better decisions beacause of her experiences, the life she lived.

This is the dialogue on race and racist that is long overdue. Those would who want “blind justice” apparently don’t it from a Latino woman who understands how the courts really work. When Rush, Newt and other unrepentent segregationist are having hissy fits, then there is a strong indication this is a major blow to “right supremacy”.

Circular firing squad. Even most conservative women know they are smarter than men.
