Who Runs Gov

The Plum LineGreg Sargent's blog

Happy Hour Open Thread

* President Obama gave an interview to NPR about his upcoming trip to the Middle East, and it will be online tonight.

* Obama reiterates his promise to “end the existing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy.”

* Jed Lewison has a good video compilation of Bill O’Reilly’s attacks on murdered doctor George Tiller. You can bet that Jed will bring us vid of O’Reilly’s appearance tonight, during which he’ll address all the criticism directed at him.

* O’Reilly fantasized about getting his “hands” on Tiller.

* TPM tells us about the suspected killer of Tiller.

* The Tiller plot thickens.

* Jason Linkins, on the Tiller murder and that DHS report on “right wing extremists”:

Looking back, I think it’s just swell how everyone dug down really deep into the politics of it, instead of the substance.

* Speaking of Tiller, Chris Bowers warns against imagining that the culture wars have receded or can be resolved.

* Rachel Weiner flags the fact that Mitt Romney has taken to claiming that Obama attacked America on “Arabic TV.”

* Chris Cillizza has an interesting new recurring feature on rising politicians that’s worth checking out.

* Joe Sestak edges still closer to challenging Arlen Specter in an interview with ABC News. Pretty soon, though, it’s gonna be impossible for him to edge any closer to running without, you know, running. Also noteworthy: Sestak brushed off Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell’s recent claim that he’d get “killed” in a primary.

* And Senator Max Baucus gets an earful from constituents about health care.

Sestak has to stop with this clowning. Either he’s in or he’s out. Enough with the coverage of his non-decision.

o’reilly the moral coward refused to take responsibility for
the venomous attacks against Dr. Tiller for years on end.
Instead, he blamed the “far left” for seeking to take political
advantage of Tiller’s murder. IN this regard, he took the same
approach as Malkin, the right wing screech owl.

words have consequences. pukes like o’reilly have claimed
liberal movies cause all sorts of societal problems. funny
he refuses to see his own words can have serious consequences.

Greg, don’t forget this is the second right wing gunmen with ties to O’Reilly and the gang. Remember the church shooter from last summer in TN?

    .

    I’m sensing a pattern.

I think abortion is a horrible thing. I think it should be an absolute ‘last resort’ – but I do support a woman’s right & am pro choice. I’d like to see some serious counseling and such before these procedures are performed.

That said, it’s still the killing of an unborn child – I think we can all agree. Abortion is a word not unlike “collateral damage” or “soft targets” – that eases just what it is.

Murder is murder – I don’t like to see anyone rejoicing over it. I doubt this was a part of some vast conspiracy – just another whackjob with a gun.

If I were that Doc – knowing there are crazies out there, I’d have had my permit to carry & would’ve been packing.

I want my abs to show a little more, already doing some excersising but I have decided to take additional supplements.

Now I heard about this thing called Acai Force Max, was wondering if anyone here ever tried it succesfully? Thanks for your advice..

BTW Don’t fall for that loophole with free acai trials, they’re not free, they’ll charge you for you S+H
