GOP War Over Palin! Limbaugh Blasts McCain Team As “Losers” Over Criticism Of Sarah
In the latest sign of open warfare within the Republican Party over the future of Sarah Palin and the GOP, Rush Limbaugh unleashed a blistering shot at McCain campaign manager Steve Schmidt over his criticism of Palin today, blasting the McCain team as “losers” who should “move aside” so others can “clean up the mess they helped create.”
Rush, a major Palin booster, just emailed me a harsh response to Schmidt, who sharply criticized Palin at a conference today in remarks that have rocketed around the political world, claiming that her selection as the 2012 GOP nominee would be “catastrophic” for the party.
Asked for comment, Rush emailed:
I think it’s time for the McCain crowd to acknowledge they are losers and pack it in. They’ve done enough damage to the Republican Party. Move aside and let a brighter, more principled, and more competent generation of people clean up the mess they helped create.
Ouch! Rush also confirmed to me that he’d be hitting these points on his show and would also discuss a big Politico story today claiming that McCain’s mission is to remake the GOP in his image.
Rush’s criticism will exacerbate the increasingly public war over the party’s future between party moderates, who advocate for a more constructive posture towards Obama and Dems, and the restive, angry, uncompromising Palin Nation wing.

I am getting a stronger feeling, each day that passes, that John McCain is thinking about running again in 2012.
He has had the presidential fever for a long time, and I do not think that he is cured of it yet.
Look at how he kissed up to Bush, after they played the race card on him. McCain still wants to be President. Do not be surprised if he tries again.
“My Precious” is still pined for by Senator McGollum.
The thought struck me that at least Rush recognizes that the GOP needs to be made over in some image. The reason that he doesn’t want it in McCain’s image is that the McCains, especially McCain filles, aren’t a certified whackjobs and therefore are a threat to Limpbaugh’s domination of the party.
I don’t care what image the GOP is made over in, but the McCain image at least isn’t as damaging to the nation as the present Limpbaugh – Beck – Palin – Bachmann image under which it is presently laboring. If the GOP wants to regain relevance in national affairs, maybe what it needs to do is take a longer view and purge itself of the whackjobs (see above plus Demint, Vitter, King and others) so that the few remaining sane individuals can form the nucleus of a renewed party in the image of Eisenhower, the last Republican president with any sense.

Whether Palin would be a successful or unsuccessful candidate in 2012 is speculation. Even in this era of hyperspeed politics, no one knows. For perspective, in 2004 Obama said he wouldn’t run for President because he was unprepared and unqualified. As of 2007, he compiled the most liberal voting record in the Senate. Yet he ran as a moderate or even conservative and managed to convince a lot of people that that was what he was, and he won.
What we do know is that Steve Schmidt is a bumbling idiot who thinks the Republican party should embrace homosexual marriage as the authentic conservative position and winning electoral strategy. Riiight.
We also know that Republicans nominated, largely by default, Schmidt’s kind of “moderate” — John McCain — last time, and it was a disaster. Like many conservatives, I have a certain admiration for McCain, at certain times and in certain respects. But we’ve been down the “moderate” road and either lost (e.g., McCain) or had, with some exceptions, liberal government on the domestic front (Bush). We have not nomimated an actual conservative since Reagan (who also compromised his principles).
The “more constructive posture” of moderates is surrender. We don’t know how Palin would do. What we do know is that “moderate” Republicanism is a disastrous compromise and failure.
So let’s put it this way: If Steve Schmidt has any future with the Republican Party, is is with a Republican Party that itself has no future.

The only “failure” I have seen in Sarah’s decades long political career, was when she lost her bid as Lt Governor of Alaska. And that ended with her being appointed to one of the most powerful jobs in Alaska, the Chairman of the AOGCC.
History tells us that she took on big oil and made them clean their act up. History also tells us that when she found out about Frank Murkowski’s “Corrupt ******** Club” and what was going on in her agency, and was blocked from firing them all, she “quit” this powerful job, then spent the next year taking down the entire Republican party leadership, all members of Murkowski’s “Club.” People still sit in prison over it.

Obama PERSONALLY called up the troopers union in Alaska, and then sent his campaign Chief-of-Staff, Pete Rouse, who is now a White House adviser up to Alaska to gin up the bogus “Troopergate” witch hunt.
After the election, Obama paid off state senator Kim Elton for his efforts to try and smear Palin with a job in the Depart. of Interior.
When THAT didn’t stop Palin, he then had Rouse contact hate bloggers Shannyn Moore, Jeanne Devon, Linda Biegel, and others, to have them recruit people to start filing ethics complaints against her. Typical Chicago thug politics.
Sarah outsmarted that moron when she stepped down. She also stopped the thugs from stealing more money from the Alaska taxpayers. Obama’s stunt cost the Alaska taxpayers $2 million dollars investigating all of the bogus claims.

Sarah actually “quit” her job for several reasons. The money Obama’s thugs were stealing was at the top of the list, for sure.
But Sarah knew from day one Obama was a disaster. She knew two things, someone had to stop this un-American loser, and the she couldn’t do it from Alaska.
Sarah had a great Lt Governor to take her place, and hand picked a Lt Governor to take his place, Lt General Craig E Campbell. They are continuing Sarah’s agenda, in peace.

Sarah has kept extensive journals since she was a kid. The goddamn book was written before she ever had offers to write it!
She also kept a daily journal during the campaign, that should make for some juicy reading!
Now unlike most “authors” Sarah announced, up front, that she was going to have a COLLABORATOR. That collaborator is Lynn Vincent. Lynn is a great author in her own right.
But the words are all Sarah’s.
In fact, right after she left office in July, she and the family basically moved to San Diego, California to put the thing together, then Sarah went to New York where she worked night and day getting it done.
And of course, this book has broken all sorts of records, and was the number one selling book within hours of it’s announcement!

I hope you are right on how 2012 goes if Sarah runs, but, either way, amazing comment that cuts tobthe chase. What we are seeing is a unique case study in style and image and pseudo-intellectualsm (Obama) versus substance (Palin). Obama is a “smart” but lightweight campus neo-Marxist internationalist who came from a relatively privileged background leading him to elite universities. In between, he reinvented himself as a radical agitator and later a ruthless Chicago pol.
Palin is the opposite in every way, a genuine common sense and instinctive conservative and a genuine leader, rather than just an operator who was always told she was special and the smartest girl in class.

I just now saw and read your second post. Yeah, it is longish as GerryP says, but also one of the most epic comments I’ve ever seen. Trust me, the lefty inhabitants here can’t handle that much bracing truth at once, (okay, none, really), but they have to be licking their wounds after that pasting.
The Republicans won so many elections in the past by carrying centrist and right leaning Independents who Obama was able to pick up in part after the nomination of Palin. Palin is the reason the Republicans lost. Limbaugh backing their reason for failure shows whoever fills his pockets is trying to bring down not only the Democratic Party but also the Republican and thus America. We have seen the enemy and it is Rush..Hannity..O’Reilly..Beck..Hate equates the Fall Of the United States of America just as the unbridled deregulation of corporations and union busting that took our industries abroad did. We’re just not that stupid.
I will give anyone 10-1 odds on Palin 2012, that is what major online betting groups are giving her. The Media talks as though Palin is viable just because it is good for ratings but it is interesting how people act when they have to back their statements. Conservatives who think Palin is the next Reagan would do well to read Peggy Noonan’s take on her, which I think is probably closest to what The Gipper might have thought.
