GOP Rep: Give Me Money Because Media Is “The Enemy”
What’s often striking about GOP attacks on the media, as opposed to ones coming from Dems, is how casually Republicans are willing to drop the charge that the media is treasonous, and how effortlessly they don a persecution complex in order to claim that the press is out to get them.
Not one but both of these traits are on display in this weird reelection fundraising video that GOP Rep. Pete King has created for himself:
King says:
“I can’t count on Newsday. In fact, Newsday is the enemy. The liberal media is working against me, so I need real people like you.”
It’s amusing enough that King is describing Newsday, one of the biggest dailies in the country, as “the enemy.” What’s really funny, though, is how King just rattles this stuff off on complete auto-pilot, without even trying to appear sincere about it. He’s not even bothering to fake it.

Still not buying it. I don’t need high tech, but I would need to at least see the hint of some kind of script along with a little less background noise to believe that was real. Besides I thought King was going to go for Gililbrand’s Senate seat.

Everyone is the enemy. They are perpetual victims, just like GG says.

What’s even funnier is that despite his throwing NYS overboard as the nominal overseer of Homeland Security, Newsday has supported him with revolting consistency.
They appear to be a bit peeved now, though…
I get amused by the hypocrisy of the Republicans playing the victim card. Any chance they get, they accuse the Dem’s of doing the same thing.
