Joe The Plumber To Campaign With Specter’s Conservative Challenger

Okay, now the pressure on Senator Arlen Specter from his right is really gonna get intense.

It turns out that his main conservative primary challenger, Club for Growth president Pat Toomey, is going to get the ultimate in blessings from the right: He’s campaigning alongside Joe the Plumber!

As I reported yesterday, Mr. Plumber has been enlisted to campaign at rallies in Pennylvania against the Employee Free Choice Act. It turns out that Toomey is now going to join Mr. Plumber, according to a little note on one of the Web sites of the event’s organizer, the anti-EFCA group Americans for Prosperity.

Inexplicably, the group has not publicized Toomey’s appearance — perhaps to avoid offending Specter, who just came out against EFCA.

There’s more. Toomey is also speaking at a conservative conference in Pennsylvania later this month with uber right wing activist Grover Norquist.

For Toomey to join Mr. Plumber at a rally against EFCA — and to speak with Norquist — both represent a big move on Toomey’s part. It suggests Toomey, who hasn’t declared his candidacy, may really be leaning towards running.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that Mr. Plumber is endorsing Toomey. But you can bet that the last thing Specter wants to see is Toomey and Mr. Plumber, side by side, railing in unison against the Employee Free Choice Act.

Question: when is the last time Joe the Plumber did any plumbing? It’s fascinating to me. Are there any analogies on the left to these Wingnut Welfare cases? Somehow, a guy with no savings and a tax lien was able to opt for early retirement.

didn’t people try to determine during the campaign when the last time Joe had, er, plumbed (plummered?) was?

But it’s been a few months now. Not only do I have to watch my savings dwindle while AIG gets their bonuses, but dammit, I want our side to start offering me free money to stand on stage and tell drunk ideologues I’m horny.

As long as the Republicans think there is real electoral value in associating themselves with people like Joe The Plumber, the Democrats will continue to hold the upper hand. What a lazy, empty, useless symbol he is.

I am really anxious to see how JTP is recieved in Pennsylvania which is one of the major unioninzed states in the country. And what happened to JTP being a war correspondent?
    .
JTP is hurting the Republican party probably just as much as Limbaugh when it comes to moderates. People in the middle see him as a joke and a farce and when you align yourself with him people will have the impression that you are just into gimmics. I hope JTP makes an appearance for Tedisco in the NY20 race before next week so he can put a nail in that coffin. Greg you saw where Murphy is up now in the Sienna poll right?

@sgwhiteinfla – You read my mind. I was just thinking it would be great if JTP showed up with Tedisco. :)

I think that would be the final kiss of death for Tedisco. JTP is only popular with the fringe of America.

Leave Joe “The Idiot” the Plumber alone. He is a symbol to us Christians of what is right with America and of our fighting men and women overseas. Sarah “Pants on Fire” Palin says that Joe’s “The Real Thing.” If Sarah said it, I believe it. ‘Nuf said.

Now if you put Sarah, Joe, Michael “Big Buffoon” Steele in a big bag with Rush, Sean, and Bill O’Reilly, and then put the bag in the microwave for a few minutes, you would have a nice nutcake with rabbit raisins. Jesus said it, and I believe it.

PS: Before her big debate with Joe Biden, Sarah searched the ranks of the McCainiacs for someone to pray with. Where was Joe?

Joe T. Plumber: the quintessential southern end of northbound horse. A complete oaf, and a self-parodying right-wing fabrication. How terribly far the GOP has fallen. If one is known by the company they keep, then this speaks very, very ill of Toomey.

JT? has only limited appeal amongst the base’s fringe, and enjoys a significant cred deficit among the sane of any political ilk. Secretly, I suspect Arlen’s doing a happy dance.

at least he has big enough balls to stand up and say what he thinks, and he thinks just like the grassroots of this country thinks, with his head and not someone elses wallet. you people would not know an honest person if they came up and bit your —you have more laws and rules in your towns than anywhere else I have ever been and let your politicians do what ever. It is time for more people like Joe to stand up. you have a mental block, your state has been going to hell in a hand basket and all you can do is talk bad about jtp.
