Bachmann Raising Cash Off Claim That Climate Change Bill Is “Tyranny”

Here’s today’s installment in the Michele Bachmann chronicles:

GOP Rep. Bachmann of Minnesota appears to be doubling down on her startling claim last week that the climate change bill presents us with a stark choice: “We choose liberty, or we choose tyranny.”

Bachmann is now using the claim to raise money, arguing that donations will enable her to fight back against those who are scheming to “delete liberty,” as she creatively puts it.

“When I spoke on the floor during the debate, I laid the question out in its most bare-boned terms: this is about liberty versus tyranny,” Bachmann says in a fundraising email I obtained. “As I have made clear over and over again: I will always stand with liberty. God bless and thank you for your support.”

Bachmann’s fundraising email also includes a link to video of her making the “liberty versus tyranny” claim on the House floor, which would appear to indicate that she’s proud of it. The email also warns, in big, garish, red letters:

Please help me show that conservatives will not simply stand by while they destroy jobs, delete liberty, and decimate our economy. Donate today, to help me keep up the fight…

Oh, what I would give to know how much cash this one brings in…

Update: The DCCC takes a whack at Bachmann via email:

When Bachmann isn’t refusing to complete the U.S. Census for fear of a reprise of WWII style internment camps, she’s claiming new jobs, energy independence, and protecting the environment are acts of tyranny. Representative Bachmann’s constituents deserve better than Bachmann’s out of touch views and embarrassing performance as a Member of Congress.

This women has the mind and educational worth of a 12 year old. I’m still shocked to the core that MN has given this women a voice and it scares me for the simple fact that if a community gave a women like this a voice what are those people like……. This is horrid.

Since she was just as loopy in the Minnestota legislature, perhaps her constituents don’t deserve better. After all, it isn’t as though her daffy behavior was an unknown quantity.

The DCCC should just leave her be like Sevugan. When somebody is about to sabotage themselves there is no reason to rush in and potentially give them a way out. Their only response should be to document each and every crazy thing she says without comment. That way she can’t pull a Palin and claim someone is targeting her.

I hope Bachmann keeps up her campaign against the census. Would you call it poetic justice if MN lost a representative and her district disappeared?

Unless you are self-delusional,as many liberals are,you know ACORN will be running the census, which is intended to skew the numbers to gerrymander a permanent majority for the parasite class. As a conservative,it pains me to think the only people in the republican party with any guts are women;Palin,Bachmann,Liz Cheney.I am only going to state the number of people in my household.Anything else is either a matter of public record or none of their business.
