Happy Hour Open Thread: Robert Gibbs Grilled About … Obama’s Bow

* White House press sec Robert Gibbs ridicules a reporter for asking about Obama’s alleged bow before the Saudi King. Yes, that actually did happen. The question, that is. It’s right here on video.

* The NRSC is now trying to raise money off the bow.

Check out this great video of Republicans hammering away at the “Obama is polarizing” claim — prompting MSNBC’s Chuck Todd to laugh and say, “it’s not true.”

* Conservative writer Ramesh Ponnuru calls for Norm Coleman to drop out of the Minnesota mess to preserve his “dignity.”

* Who knew that Duncan Black, a.k.a. the liberal blogger Atrios, has been moonlighting as a fashion model?

* Sam Stein reports on the first wave of revenge the unions are directing at Arlen Specter in return for opposing the Employee Free Choice Act.

* Huh. For some reason, the Florida Republican who introduced the bill requiring presidential candidates to submit birth certificates, perceived by many as a slap at Obama’s heritage, is surprised that the reaction to the measure was uncivil.

* Jake Tapper has an interesting transcript of Obama discussing immigration reform at length during a recent town meeting, and casting it as an economic boon to all. Worth a read.

* Conservative bloggers say Obama is no John Wayne.

* Nancy Pelosi doesn’t think much of the idea that “partisan” is an automatic negative. As she puts it:

“If you can’t find common ground, that doesn’t mean you’re partisan. It just means you believe two different things.”

Of course, that’s easy for her to say. She’s in power now, so if the two sides disagree, she’s still probably getting her way.

* And it looks like today’s political environment just isn’t quite right for red scares.

I agree.  BigO never struck me as the shoot-from-the-hip type.  Exactly the opposite.

I’m sure glad to see the winding down of Cowboy Politics, especially in foreign policy.

To be fair to Ramesh Ponnuru on Norm Coleman, he actually said, “But this is, I think, the last moment where he can exit with some dignity.” I think Ponnuru expects us to stress SOME as in a certain amount–e.g., .001% of his former dignity (which admittedly was negligible).

Not satire…Gerson actually writes a good column for Friday’s paper. Whooda thunk?

Coleman, dignity? Hah! Or, what AllButCertain said.

So, I guess Bush holding hands and swapping kisses as he walked through the flower garden together with his personal friend, the Saudi king, was perfectly OK?

Perhaps not a surprising weighting. We expect John Bolton would rather French kiss a swarthy bedouin than bow down to him.

Hey I’m new and I guess this is as good a place as any to see if anyone knows of a good loss mitigation training course?

I keep hearing about people making tons of money becoming foreclosure consultants.
So, If you have any info or you have purchased a good course, please share. I’m retired and looking for a home based business that I can earn a decent income with.

    Thanks,
